Customer Review: Good teapot for the price.

This teapot is a good balance between cost and quality. I like the Kenya model because it protects the glass a little and acts as an insulator to protect from the hot/warm glass. The only downside to this pot is because it has a plastic filter, the filter holes are a little bigger than I would prefer and it tends to discolor after some use. But neither of these issues bother me that much. If you want to get a great glass teapot get the one with the metal filter. But if you want a relatively low cost teapot that will do a good job then this one is a good option.

The New Kenya tea press is entirely made of plastic and glass for convenient everyday use, while offering the best brewing method for that perfect cup of tea. The handle remains cool while the plastic frame protects your tabletop from the heat of the glass teapot. Drinking tea no longer belongs to the past but will be a luxury of the future. We set out with a goal to make an innovation in tea brewing and the patented Bodum tea press system was born.Eye-catching in design with swooping curves, the black plastic frame on the New Kenya tea press adds to the anticipation of the fragrant brew. Bodum makes the teapot itself of borosilicate glass, the lightweight, heat-resistant kind found in science labs; all the rest of the parts, including the filter, are made of plastic except for the stainless-steel plunging rod. The plastic frame conveniently helps insulate the bottom of the hot teapot from your table. This particular model holds 34 ounces of tea, enough to fill approximately three mugs or eight teacups.
To brew tea in the New Kenya, measure loose leaf tea into the filter, add nearly-boiling water, put the lid in place, and let it brew. When you feel the tea is strong enough, depress the plunger. The leaves are compacted, which stops the brewing process. That way, you can enjoy the serene act of brewing the tea at your table without having the mess of removing the filter.
