Although it will not hurt garlic to store it in the refrigerator, there is no need to do so. Any reasonably cool (room temperature) place will do. Furthermore, garlic is best stored where air can circulate around it. Moisture can build up in a container like the Bodum Garlic Dome, promoting the growth of mold. Experts recommend a basket, possibly in a drawer. We just keep ours on a small plate on the kitchen counter, where it seems to keep fine.
